Welcome to Redditch Railway Interest Group

A warm welcome is extended to everyone interested in any aspect of railways. We are a friendly group based in Redditch, Worcestershire who meet regularly for talks and filmshows on railway topics. In addition, we arrange visits to heritage railways and other sites of interest.

Meetings

Meet with other people interested in sharing knowledge and experiences of railways past and present. Unless otherwise stated, meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at 2.00pm at the Forge Mill Museum Visitor's Centre, Needle Mill Lane, Riverside, Redditch, B98 8HY.

A minimum donation of £4 per person is requested towards expenses including tea/coffee and biscuits at indoor meetings.

Visits

Visits are regularly arranged to sites of interest such as heritage railways and railway museums. In addition, social visits are also organised such as river and canal boat trips.

On Saturday 13th June 2026 we will be visiting the Dean Forest Railway in a joint visit with Bromsgrove Railway Club.

Holidays

Each year a week away in the Spring is arranged at a hotel so that heritage railways and other sites of interest in the area can be visited.

In 2026 we visited North Wales from May 3rd to May 9th and stayed at a hotel in Llandudno.
